Crocus Sativus - Saffron Crocus is the source of the most expensive spice in the world and sells for $5000 a pound. Late Fall blooming flowers, dormant in summer.  Plant 4-6 inches deep depending on the size of the corm.  My September delivery  9+ cm crocus are planted 6" deep.

Crocus Sativus is suited for mild winter climates and will naturalize. It blooms in the fall and the yellow saffron threads can be harvested for cooking. Will take partial shade.
