Tulip and Hyacinths bulbs can be planted as soon as the bulbs are available and goes through early spring through May and into June for Hyacinths. Tulip and Hyacinth varieties are available now.  Tulips come in so many beautiful colors and bicolors with different shapes and blooming times,

Hyacinths now come in many colors other than the traditional blue, white, yellow amd pink. Orange (Sweet Invitation), Peach (Gypsy), Rose (Jan Bos), many blues (Royal Purple, Delph, Blue Jacket, Miss Saigon) have been added to the varieties available.

Tulip and Hyacinths Bulbs should be planted 2-6 inches deep depending on the zone, In warmer zones, the bulbs can be planted more shallowly and treated as annuals and thus are easier to remove. They can be over planted with Violas or Alyssum or seeded with Forget Me Nots for a beautiful combination.  The annuals help hide the browning foliage as it dies back over the summer.
