Gloriosa Rothschildiana Superba Lily, originally from Africa, is an easy-to-grow plant that thrives in many gardens. It multiplies quickly and adds a vibrant touch to any landscape. The lily’s glowing crimson-red flowers with a yellow base and slight yellow edge are truly stunning.

These lilies are low climbers, reaching heights of 5-6 feet. Their beautiful, lily-like flowers bloom over an extended period, making them ideal for gardens or containers. They also make long-lasting cut flowers. For the best growth, plant them in full sun with good drainage. If you leave the flower vines uncut, the tubers will double in size, allowing the plant to spread. To support the vines, provide a structure like a wall, fence, or trellis for climbing.

To grow Gloriosa Rothschildiana Superba Lily successfully, start by planting the long tubers flat in the soil. Choose a well-drained area along a fence or wall, spacing the tubers about 6 inches apart and planting them 3-4 inches deep. Water the area thoroughly after planting.

In early spring, when growth begins, apply a liquid fertilizer weekly to encourage healthy growth. As the season progresses, switch to a half-strength fertilizer every two weeks. This will help maintain strong, continuous blooms throughout the summer and sometimes into early autumn.

One of the benefits of this lily is its adaptability. It can thrive in full sun and needs minimal care once established. The plant’s vigorous growth and stunning blooms make it a standout in any garden. Whether planted along a trellis or in a container, Gloriosa lilies will brighten your garden and reward you with beauty and ease of care year after year.

The tubers are fresh and ready to plant!
